I am fully in favour of the Commission considering (Paragraph S14) a different unit for effective dose from that used for radiation weighted dose. In my view the common use of sievert for equivalent dose and effective dose contributed to the misuse of effective dose in a number of areas, including radiation epidemiology. A different unit would help prevent this misuse of effective dose.
